I get how things don't normally go your way. Sometimes it takes an "extra" something to get to that point and actually live it. And once you do, it feels great - empowering even.
I seem to always misconstrue that if you aim your head towards something, you can always glide your way through it. To some, it works like magic. But to someone like me (stubborn as hell, easily persuaded to do the opposite almost all the time), it takes a mighty will and extreme focus to actually achieve it. Probably because I know at the back of my head that it's a plausible matter. I am lazy by nature. And a little too much of a believer in what's good and ideally, what's good will always be equated to what's right. And that if it's meant to be, then it will find its pristine way to you. A little too Walt Disney-ish to an adult palette. But that's not why I am semi-ranting right now. The thing that really irks me, is being misconstrued as someone who gets things for free, or someone who never really thrives at anything. A someone who settles for an "OKAY" and "MANAGEABLE" expecting that these two are the best compliments any sane person could possibly get. What. The. Hell.
Is it really hard for someone to simply see things beyond its seven shades of crimson? And wonder that someone with an abusive usage of words and getting mediocre scores can flip things to excellency when push comes to shove? To recognize passion marked on the very skin of a regular 27 something and fails to do so just because she blabs too much? I get it.
But sometimes, being loud doesn't mean you come mentally and sensibly empty. And you should probably thank these people because when all else fail, it is always easier to point your fingers at them, blame them for some failed plan just because they were too upfront about it or too vocal. Having experienced such "racism" is clearly a one way ticket in dousing my self-esteem. It's allowing that other side of me (the insecure, lowly, fragile side) to rethink about all the great plans I would have wanted or to question if I am ever going to do things right. That sucks! Not even a warm mushroom soup nor a dollop of ice cream can cure this kind of depression. And it's even harder knowing that these very things stemmed from the person whom you've thought of as an ally. Perhaps I could just dismiss this whole thing as a "bump" to whichever road of success I am headed for. But still, it hurts.

Monday
Others dread this day. Commonly because it means the end of a weekend (partying, booze, sleeping late and waking up late) and the start of what adults would love and hate to do ... WORK!
Well, I don't know how you roll your sleeves and beat the bad ass out of a cursed day but to me, I have always cherished Mondays. Even more after realizing that my beloved employer just granted me, and some lucky "workaholics", a day off on top of our days off! Now, how should I spend this extra topping on a cherry-filled weekend?
Let me clue you in.

Things we did: Life of Pi 3D. Royal Krua Thai. Chatime
It was Jing's birthday and the Family Tree simply can't put off a good Monday without doing something extra special to a dear friend. Plus, Mondays came really rare for us three and being able to spend that blessed day together can be counted off as a once in a lifetime experience.
Jing, you have our thoughts written and hanged in your room. lol. Thank you!

New Year, Not So New Outfit Mash Up
So what's up with capitalizing all first letters of each word huh?!LOL
Clearly, I am in no 100% composed and sane mind that I need to start this blog with an apology (that this might be something you need to reread and recomprehend due to the blogger's lack of thought organization) and a surreal blur of mambo-jambo.
For starters, I have all this CRAZED UP ideas inside my cerebellum and to put them under one blog would mean a total fiasco. And as much as I would want to sit all morning, type in and copy-paste things for my larger than life blog (did I mention I am not in my best state of writing prowess as we speak? Or is it as I type? whatev. :D ), I simply don't have the luxury of time, art and "muchness". Blogging is nowhere near an easy task mind you.
So, in celebration of the New Year, I have decided to simply mash things up a bit. I have concluded that it would be best to jump start my 2013 blog entry with the non-sentimental. And I seriously needed to deviate from the usual, "What is your 2013 New Year's resolution". Come on! We're not in 6th grade anymore.
Now let me present to you, my outfit posts aptly named "Blue and Comfort"

Now let me present to you, my outfit posts aptly named "Blue and Comfort"
gray top and studded shorts - Forever 21 || plum beaded necklace - gifted from Rica
I chose these pieces mainly for comfort. And if you may have noticed, I didn't bling myself that much other than the beaded necklace (which by the way, was a major doable piece either with kimonos or on laid back outfits such as this).
tee and leggings - Forever 21 || champagne flats - So Fab! || aztec printed bag - Tonic (gifted from Jing²) || beaded turquoise necklace - bazaar find
To welcome the second day of January and as the official comeback of almost everyone at work, I opted to make things - light and stretchable. I was also aiming in having my beloved aztec bag take the spotlight. It's just so adorable and wearable. Fits my boho lifestyle.
And if you're gonna ask me what's my BIG BAG BOOM dream outfit for this year, it's going to be this:
I know. It was hard not squeezing in the bohemian feel. I mean, I have been breathing that style for more than a year now that it has literally become a lifeline to me. But, I never wanted to dull my senses. Thus, the heels. (Holy crap! I think I have just catapulted myself to a near-death disaster with this monstrosity!) Now that's just me overreacting. I have not worn a 4-inch heel ever in my life, that the thought of wearing one is heartbreaking. Well, a mixture of anxiety and excitement that is. It will probably take all of my will power and body coordination to walk with poise and deduce the possibility of falling flat (and HARD) on my ass! But as the great NASCO would say, "If it scares you, then it must be something greater than you". Oh yes, my dear 4 inch heels. You are in so much trouble. And you better know who the boss between us two. And it ain't gonna be you!
Now I am talkin' gangsta. Tsk.tsk. Cheers!!!

The Remedy on Christmas Day
The remedy is the experience
This is the dangerous liaison
The comedy is that it's serious
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
Well it all amounts to nothing in the end

Leave it to my man Jason Mraz, to make the complicated seem very simple. Merry Christmas everyone! :)

Sundays, Coffee and my Family Tree
Having more than one set of family in a lifetime is not surprising to me at all.
I have considered friends being the next best and closest thing to whom I can consider as family.
Why?
Well, they listen to your rants - the cursive, vulgar, no-holds barred kind of ranting which your Mother and Father wouldn't typically approve of and letting your parents hear 'em is a surefire guarantee of either a good smack in the head or worse, a vocal fight.
You get to share more of the "behind the scene" stories with your friends. Considering the fact that you are of almost the same age, it makes opening up less humiliating, and more accepting.
Your friends do not - in as much as they would want to - impose larger than life rules which your own biological family would. Don't take me the wrong way. My friends are not BIs. It's just that, they try to understand where you're coming from and would rather want to hear you confide with them and them sharing pieces of advise to you than ostracize you with generalities which is truly, not solicited at that particular moment.
Lastly, friends are another source of ultimate happiness. Knowing that you are able to share a huge chunk of your life with them makes you wonder, just how amazing it is to belong with these set of people, despite being entirely different, and yet, you just feel like you guys were once cut out from the same cloth. No judgment, no inuendos. All you have to bring to the table is an understanding and accepting heart. That, my friends, is what I call MIRACLE!
And having bestowed with such miracle, I have spent yet another amazing Sunday with two of my closest buddies: Patty and Jing². These two are my complete allies with just about anything : food, fashion, pranks, humor, smart gossiping, and family. We have come a long way since 2010. One amazing quality that I really admire from these two is their passion when it comes to friendship. You would rarely see true sympathy and love coming from adults these days, but Patty and Jing have proven me wrong. And that sometimes, scary as it seems to trust others with your life, I wouldn't mind entrusting mine to theirs. They're just God's gift to me.
And here is a closer look at the amazing gifts that I got from my family tree:

I am looking forward to many more brekkys, Sundays, coffees and seasons with you two ♥
And, what better way to spend another Sunday than an early Christmas treat !!! We hanged out and sipped to amazing coffees at Starbucks IT park. Jing had dark cherry mocha, Patty wanted hers on the more fruity side with strawberry and cream while yours truly, opted the ever reliable hot white chocolate mocha. We had these three all in venti. (That perky Starbucks cashier got us into venti while mimicking the latest Miss Universe pose. Yes. He is gay! :D)
Well, just let these photos give you a dose as to what went on that day, the giving of gifts, our happy lots, the sumptuous meal we had at Max's thereafter and .. :)
And here is a closer look at the amazing gifts that I got from my family tree:
Tonic's Emma bag in aztec print - gifted from Jing²
Toto - my cable wire holder gifted from Patty
and lastly, a shot of the nude blazer and floral, green-hued kimono both gifted from Patty
Upon opening my gifts, I suddenly felt like I was 10 years old all over again. Thank you guys.. I never expected to have these babies for Christmas..!!! And on a more deeper note, thank you for letting me be a part of your lives as well.. ♥ To more Christmases and seasons in between Family Tree!!! much love ♥♥♥Friday, December 7, 2012
raging hormones
It's Thursday and Day 2 post-Pablo..
After conquering the aftermath of what could have been considered as a typhoon stronger than Bagyong Sendong, the persistent cool winds and drizzles still frequented the Metropolitan's night sky. Our site is currently on dress down, to accomodate the not so graceful commutes of their employees. Good job to its management! :)
Anyway, I have been feeling bloated. big. dreary. stressed. the list goes on.
I guess, it is that time of the month again wherein my gastronomical wants are ridiculously horrible and I weigh (I don't really weigh.. hehehe! ) and look 2x than I should.
And since I still am a human being who needs to go to work, I opted in wearing these aztec pants, paired with taupe cami and nude crocheted top.
Comfort and style was my peg for today.
Pretty basic and laid back for a night's worth of work.
Oh! This is my first outfit post by the way. ♥
crocheted top - Forever21 || taupe colored cami - Forever21 || aztec printed pants - Nowi Onlineshop || bangle - from Boracay || candy colored wrap - carbon find || turquoise bib necklace - gift from Patty
